6. Homework

iShares. Basically these are "collections" of shares which are managed and invested in as a package. They will be good to broaden our portfolio, as an addition to other shares.

Cobbs recommended Grains and Softs (sugar, coffee, soyabeans etc) which tracks the Dow Jones AIG (agricultural index). Tickers AIGG (soyabens, corn ,wheat) and AIGS (cotton, coffee, sugar). Both run by ETF Securities, both done well in last 3 years.

Edgar recommended 2 Froggie-managed funds run by Lixor, traded on LSE. 1. Russia Titans 10 tracks 10 largest companies in Russia (Gazprom, banks, telecoms). Graph steadily risen over last5 years.

Edgar also recommended Commodities CRB tracks whole global commodities market (i.e. metals, fuels, soft commodities, pork bellies and orange juice etc etc) from around the world.

Rudi recommended a Canadian iShare. CAN$ very strong currency compared to US$. Canada has vast resources and is also stable politically. TSE-XEG, holds energy funds (gas, oil, mining ncl oil sands). If we can't get TSE-XEG because it's not LSE, Rudi recommended UUI United Utilities.

7. Voting

We agreed on the following

LCTY - Froggie-managed commodities

LRUS - Froggie-managed Russian Top 10

AIGG - Grains

TSE-XEG - Canadian Energy

We voted on some randomly recommended shares in case we can't get TSE-XEG (as it's not LSE) - United Utilites won.

We will put £1200 into each ASAP.

8. AOB

Rudi asks that we look at the ADVFN login and portfolio and fill in shares we're interested in.

Johnny P might be leaving the club, needs funds for moving. Next month? Does he want to be a silent member?

We should look at positions to SELL. Next meeting we will discuss but limit the discussion to 20 minutes.
