Cobbs recommended Johnson matthey, chemical firm making catalytic converters. Platinum a big product, some used for cancer cures. Also mining. 2SB 3B. Price stadily rising.

Cobbs recommended Umeco (UMC). Mining, composites and also wind farms. Supplies F1 teams with materials; also aerospace industry. Divi 5.5p. 1B 1N 1S

Mark suggested by Workspace Group. Recommended by Telegraph. We had them in the past, made 30%. Price dipped recently. From June 2004: "Tim recommended Workspace Group tipped in 3 papers today. They are based on the old GLC industrial portfolio. Convert (for example) old railway arches into space for small businesses, artists etc. There are 330000 such spaces in London. Growth is based on property prices and they borrow on that to buy more places. 3SB 2MB. PE 27 vs avg 23. Graph steadily rising"

JP recommended AFC Energy, making low-cost fuel cells.

AFC energy (AFC - one for Pablo), AIM-listed April 2007. Make low-cost
fuel cells using new technology. Main market is chemical industry
which produces hydrogen as a by-product - they use the fuel cells
to generate electricity from waste hydrogen and return it to the
National Grid. This is zero-emission energy.
Still small company with a couple of big deals under their belts already.

7. Voting

Decided to put £1500 into Workspace and £1500 into AFC. Usual +/-20% buy sell on each.
