High/Low sell prices It will be advantageous to change the time we look at sell prices Low sell price - look at 11am and 4pm, must be low at both times. High sell price - sell if it's high at 1pm. Buy at 1pm. Kewill - Current low sell price 300, move to 290. The rest are OK. 3. Homework - Meanings. Mark has put his and Bob's homework on he website. Mark: New page on website explaining how to read brokers reports. All to send their findings to Mark if they haven't done so. 4. Homework and new shares. Bob: Shire Pharmaceuticals (SHP). Price has dropped by 33% or so; recently purchased Canadian company, market says bold move - this caused the shares to drop. Recently awarded license to sell a particular drug which could do well, they are only company who can sell it. Pablo: CellTech (CCH). Recently entered FTSE 100. Acquired new company and their sales force. Volume 1200000 - good. Lots of new drugs in the pipeline and at advance stages of approval, one just got FDA approval. Drugs are for prevalent diseases - leukemia, Crohn's Disease, arthritis. Good R+D programme. Argonaut Games (AGT). Developed demo game for Microsoft's new XBox games console and are developing games for Playstation 2. Develop games for PS1 and Nintendo. Share price may rise on back Xbox news but drop if Xbox doesn't appear for a while. Short-term gamble. Volume 150000 - good. Cobbs: Looked at support industries that are making profit out of floods and rail chaos! Air Partners (AIP). Air charter broker, used by big companies, governments, pop stars, airlines. Graph presently high. Volume 0 ??? Andrew Sykes (). Sell and rent driers, pumps etc. One broker recommends strong buy. Tim: BAe Systems (BA). Major Airbus partner (they make the wings). Biggest defence contractor in the UK, making jets, radar, missiles nd other aerospace defence stuff. Train and run the Saudi defence operations. Bad news today on Hawk trainers and parts supplied for frigates. Highly rated before today's news. Share price helped by Bush getting in. Maybe look at next month John: Screen(). see last meeting. Being tipped by papers this week. Emergency and CCTV sectors. Takeovers imminent of US company; acquired chairman from IBM. Targeting delivery businesses. Share price dropped to 7, now 12. Mark: "Clicks and mortar" - companies that have real assets but also internet presence. Dixons (). Lots of income from Freeserve. PC market dropping off. Huge turnover; also own Currys.23 brokers recommended strong buy. Graph has dropped but rising WH Smiths (SMWH). Average buy/hold graph. Boots (BOOT). Sunday Times recommendation of the year. Sell stuff you don't need to see - perfumes etc. Currently internet side poor, under development. Graph looks good - has been low but rising. Dividends 5.6%. Choose between Shire, Celltech, Argonaut, Air Partners, Screen, BAe Sytems, Boots. Celltech won. Buy price: 900-1100, buy on Monday Low Sell price: 800 High Sell price: 1499 5. Homework for next meeting. Brokers' reports again. We need to identify what we should look at when comparing companies. Same factors as last homework, but saying what we should be looking for in that factor. We should circulate details of the companies we are looking at 1 week before a meeting.
