MINUTES

1. Mark will update Cow page on the 5th of every month, to accurately reflect the value of our units at that time. We hold £228 as of today. Me to pay in £200.

Today's prices compared to what we bought at:

Psion: +22.53%
Express Dairies: -3.23%
Photo-Me: -5.735%
Tadpole: +20.31%

2. Adjust Photo-Me low sell price to 65 (was 60)

Adjust Psion high sell price to 9.99 (was 13.00)

3. Dividends - http://www.hemscott.com/EQUITIES/  gives dividend dates.

Have to consider whether or not it's worth hanging on to collect dividends before we sell. The company website will tell you rough dividend expected, also the above site.

4. Next investment.

Bob pointed out the importance of checking the volume, which is the number of shares traded daily. Important when we want to sell shares.

Mark suggests Scottish Radio Holdings. They own radio co's, papers and they're buying billboard companies which are become VERY trendy in the US, and will probably take off over here.

Presently rising, but could still be a good deal. Worth watching.

Mark suggests WPP - global marketing company doing OK. Worth watching.

JP suggests NXT, loudpeakers and audio products being tipped recently, and signing strategic agreements with Matsushita and others.

Cobbs did loads of breweries.

Fullers - price dropped lots in last year, also trading only 8000 shares.
S&N - own Centre Parcs, but may be selling them??. Everyone loves Centre Parcs! Graph up and down, currently going down.
Bass - still brewing? Own Tango and Robinsons. Graph up and down, currently doing well.
South African Breweries - holding company specialising in beer distribution esp in SA. Tipped by analysts, but may have peaked.
Allied & Domecq
Wolverhampton and Dudley - have risen sharply in last few weeks, they've probably peaked.
Young's - dropped March, but steady more recently. Worth considering.
Regent Inns - arse, dropping like a stone.
Greene King - steady
Burtonwood - graph very wobbly
Whitbread - price has been steady but recently dropped.

JP suggest Cable and Wireless - hotly tipped. Graph looks good, but it may already be high.

Bob reckoned Marks and Spencers may be a bargain. Shares recently dropped. Pays reasonable dividend. Have announced that they will get involved in TV sales through BSkyB. But is it too dull?

We voted on S&N, Bass, NXT and C&W. S&N won. We've got a brewery! Yesssss!
Buying price: below 480.
High selling price: 649
Low selling price: 390

5. Homework:

Bob - biotechs and pharmaceuticals
Cobbs - engineering
Mark - more media stuff
JP - entertainment (music)

JP - chase up Brett and Marcus
Bob - chase up potential interest

6. Next meeting October Friday 13th October, Mark's place. Girls allowed. Poker game!
